These days, achieving a refined, attractive, and rejuvenated look without the need for full cosmetic surgery is not only more accessible, but also cheaper than invasive surgery thanks to the a growing list of advancements in non-surgical cosmetic treatments. These non-invasive procedures, popularly known as “tweakments,” refer to small, non-surgical procedures that result in a natural and subtly improved look. For example, instead of full-blown facelifts or rhinoplasties, both men and women can choose more discreet treatments with little downtime that still offer effective results.
Treatments such as non-surgical nose jobs, fluid facelifts, cheek enhancements, and jaw and chin reshaping are all tweakments that offer similarly effective results to cosmetic surgery but without the invasiveness. Tweakments often are short procedures (some as little as 30 minutes), and have little to no recovery time so that patients can get right back to their daily lives.
What is a “tweakment?”
Tweakments are usually minor, low-commitment, mostly temporary and, if done right, they are not obvious. Minimally invasive treatments are on the rise in popularity because you can achieve significant, natural-looking results with little or no downtime. From facial peels to light botox to laser treatments to carefully placed filler and even treatments which cause a ‘controlled burn’ beneath the skin known as “ultherapy,” tweakments have taken over.
Previously, more invasive plastic surgery was all the rage. The “barbie doll” look, the “frozen face,” and “duck lips” heavily influenced the media and advertisement industry – and our society’s impression of plastic surgery. Today, it’s no longer popular to have the no-movement face of the 1990s or the filler-filled cheeks and lips of a decade ago. Rather than attempting to look 10+ years younger, people have been embracing a more natural look and simply want to “look good for their age.”
Tweakments are also not just reserved for those of a more mature age; more and more young people are embracing tweakments both for the temporary nature of the treatment (in case they end up not liking the final results) as well as utilizing them as a preventative measure for their future self. Instead of fighting the effects of aging, they are taking steps ahead of time to maintain their youthful complexion. According to a study conducted by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, over 80% of procedures done by surgeons were cosmetic, non-invasive procedures.
The Development of the Tweakment
One of the main reasons there has been an increase in popularity of non-invasive procedures is because of the incredible advancements in the plastic surgery industry. New and high-tech procedures such as ultherapy, coolsculpting, and the hydrafacial have taken the plastic surgery world by storm with their innovation, lack of recovery time, lack of scars, and overall effectiveness. The biggest draw of tweakments, though? Their affordability. For example, the cost of non-surgical rhinoplasty varies by geographic location, but the average price in the United States is $1,025.00. Compared to the $5,000 to $10,000 price tag of traditional rhinoplasty, it’s easy to see why tweakments have garnered mainstream media attention.
Other examples of cost-comparisons include a liquid facelift versus a surgical facelift. A liquid facelift has a variety of various cosmetic fillers, such as Juvederm, Voluma, Botox and Restylane to choose from and are used on eight of the most prominent facial features (also called the “8 Point Lift”) that are prone to showing signs of aging. They are injected with precision to contour, fill and shape a more youthful, sculpted appearance. The average cost of a liquid facelift for the 8 point lift, aka liquid facelift, is around $2,500 (dependent on location and number of areas treated, as all eight may not be needed). However, the average cost of a surgical facelift is between $8,000 – $9,000.

What you need to know before your “tweakment”
With all of these new and advanced procedures breaking the traditional boundaries of what was previously possible with plastic surgery, there are a number of precautions to take before jumping in and scheduling a treatment:
Do Your Research
- Since these are up-and-coming procedures that have gained mass media attention, it is important to make sure to find the best resources available to determine if you are a viable candidate for these procedures, and then if a certain procedure is even the best one for you. One resource we highly recommend is https://www.plasticsurgery.org/. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons is a viable source of information and news updates with the latest research and findings in the plastic surgery world. In addition to this, you can speak with a qualified plastic surgeon, like Dr. Tehrani, who will discuss all of your options with you and help you make the best decision for your needs.
Find the Right Surgeon
- The next step is selecting a reputable surgeon whose advice you trust. Consider factors such as the experience of the practitioner, cost of the procedure, and the aftercare they provide for post-treatment. It is additionally important to note that simply booking a consultation doesn’t necessarily mean you’re locked in for the treatment: book as many consultations as needed for you to feel comfortable going ahead with the procedure.
- At Aristocrat Plastic Surgery, we pride ourselves on having one of the top 10 plastic surgeons in the nation, Dr. Kevin Tehrani. New York plastic surgeon Dr. Kevin Tehrani is renowned for his masterful skills in aesthetic surgery. He has been featured on a myriad of different note-worthy media channels such as the Discovery Channel, CBS, and Entertainment Weekly for his incredible skills in aesthetics. His latest feature was on FOX Business discussing the benefits of Botox for men.
Dr. Tehrani also holds the academic position of Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He uses his expansive knowledge of plastic surgery to teach instructional courses in aesthetic surgery and laser applications. He has presented both nationally and internationally at major medical conferences. During his initial intense surgical training, he dedicated all of his research and surgical efforts toward patient satisfaction and well-being, and still does to this day.
Manage your Expectations with the Procedure and Doctor
- Because of the temporary nation of non-invasive procedures, it is very important to manage your expectations of the treatments. For example, when people are looking into Botox and ask for a natural look, one cannot expect complete smoothness with equal mobility as before. It is nearly impossible to achieve a totally smooth forehead, for example, without reducing movement considerably. Clients should expect their deeper lines to appear reduced and softened but not fully eradicated.
Additionally, another common mistake is that many people think Botox works immediately, and sadly get upset when they don’t see an immediate result even though Botox sometimes takes 2 weeks for the full treatment to kick in and another 2 weeks for optimum visible results.Transparency is incredibly important no matter the procedure.
What non-invasive tweakment is right for me?
If you’re unsure where to begin researching non-invasive procedures, or how to best interview plastic surgeons, we’ve compiled a brief guide below to help you get started.
Non-invasive Injectable Procedures
-
- Botox:
Botox is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure used to smooth the deep, persistent wrinkles that are caused by muscle activity. Botox is a fairly short cosmetic treatment involving a series of tiny injections that help you to achieve a rejuvenated look. Botox can smooth crow’s feet, frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal lines along the forehead, worry/smile lines around the mouth, and lines or wrinkles along the neck.
- Botox:
Botox, contrary to popular belief, actually relaxes the muscles that cause the age lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to four months, although it is important to note that individual results may vary. The Botox non-invasive treatment is FDA-approved and has been extensively tested for safety precautions. The benefits of Botox have been widely covered by news and media outlets, which has made it the most popular cosmetic procedure in New York City and one of Aristocrat Plastic Surgery’s most requested services.
Our Botox Cosmetic Treatment Visualizer allows you to see how Botox Cosmetic can help you achieve the natural look you want.
Even though Botox is not an invasive surgical procedure, it is extremely important to choose a highly experienced and qualified physician. Doctors who are less familiar with the technique could leave you looking “frozen” or consistently surprised. Dr. Tehrani and his trained injectors are intimately familiar with Botox and believe in the policy that you can always go back and add more, but you cannot easily take away. They also understand the intricate anatomy of the proposed injection areas on the face.
Dr. Tehrani has been given the incredible distinction of ExpertInjector, which fewer than 3% of doctors have qualified for. This means Dr. Tehrani is a top physician for Botox in New York City. The ExpertInjector organization is the only one of its kind to have the endorsement of both the prestigious American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
To give you an idea of the scope of what is needed to qualify for the distinction of ExpertInjector, here are the requirements:
- They must be board-certified
- They only buy injectables that are FDA-approved.
- They only buy injectables directly from Botox
- They must keep accurate records of all procedures performed, for each patient.
- All patients are required to sign informed consent papers prior to their procedure, ensuring they are fully informed about Botox treatments.
- They have instituted appropriate protocols within their practice to manage potential adverse reactions.
- They have the expertise to manage any complications associated with Botox
- They offer patients various injectable options
- They have an educational process for patients to make informed decisions
- They are trained by the representative on the proper process to inject their product
- The staff adheres to the same standard as the physician who either oversees the procedure or performs it themselves
Dr. Tehrani determines exactly where to administer several tiny injections to achieve the best aesthetic results. No anesthesia is required although a cold pack or a topical anesthetic cream may be applied prior to injection. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes.
Cellulite Reduction: Cellulite affects the hips, buttocks, and legs of most women when puberty is finished. It is caused by a variety of factors such as aging, hormones, genetics, and dramatic weight changes. While most people believe that cellulite is a problem caused by excess fat, it is in actuality a structural problem beneath the skin on a slightly deeper level. That is why diet and exercise don’t work to eliminate it.
Cellfina: Cellfina System is an FDA approved treatment for unwanted cellulite, and Aristocrat Plastic Surgery is one of the very few plastic surgery clinics in New York City and Long Island to provide this one-time, minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure.
Cellulite is common in women, and Cellfina effectively reduces any unwanted cellulite in the hips, thighs, and buttocks with little pain and no scarring. What Cellfina does to accomplish this is releasing fibrous tissue bands in troubled areas, which helps to tighten the skin and remove cellulite dimples. This in-office procedure is a completely safe treatment that takes approximately 45 minutes. You can expect results to last for years to come. Finally, the clinically proven cellulite reduction solution that you and your body have been waiting for is here and at Aristocrat.
First, patients interested in cellulite removal with the Cellfina System will schedule a consultation with us to see if this cellulite treatment is right for them. If they are a candidate for cellulite removal, the troubled areas are marked, and one of our certified physician’s assistants will administer local anesthesia to numb the treatment area. Once the numbing agent is in effect, the cellulite dimpled area is vacuumed into the Cellfina System, and a very small microblade is inserted in between the skin and cellulite bands to release the dimples and ensure a smoother skin appearance.
Cellulaze: Cellulaze by Cynosure is a revolutionary cellulite treatment that has been approved by the FDA to reduce cellulite on the thighs and buttocks. It is the only minimally invasive laser procedure designed to treat the very structure of cellulite beneath the skin. This makes it very different from other treatments that deal with the problem only on a superficial level. Cellulaze delivers long-term results after only one short treatment.
After a local anesthetic is applied to the treatment areas to make the client more comfortable, a few tiny incisions are made in those areas. The incisions are so small that they can be covered with a Band-Aid. A very small tube that contains the Cellulaze laser is inserted under the skin through the tiny incision. The Cellulaze laser is then used to target and smooth out pockets of fat and break up fibrous bands. These are the bands that pull the skin down around the pockets of fat to stimulate the production of collagen in order to thicken the skin and increase its elasticity, thus “tightening” up cellulite. On average, the procedure takes 1-2 hours, during which you will feel minimal discomfort.
Skin Tightening
- BBL Laser Skin Tightening: Aristocrat Plastic Surgery is one of a select few New York plastic surgery practices that offers BBL SkinTyte from Sciton – an advanced technology for laser skin tightening. BBL stands for “Broadband Light,” a cutting edge development in advanced laser treatments that can achieve non-surgical skin tightening of large areas with zero downtime.
The pulsed light of the device heats the deeper layers of the skin while cooling the outer surface of the skin. The heat causes the skin cells to contract and tighten, which in turn stimulates the skin to create collagen. The treatment promotes the ramped up production of collagen, so the results continue to improve for up to four months.
Before the procedure begins, we apply a cooling gel to your skin, and your eyes will be covered to protect them from the laser light. Your treatment will take approximately 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. You will feel quick gentle pulses from the device; however, if you feel any discomfort, the treatment can be adjusted.
BBL is great for anyone with any area with loosened skin, including the face, jowls, neck, stomach, and thighs. Depending on the treated area, you will need between two or four treatments spaced two to four weeks apart. The final results will become visible in two to six months. The results are long-lasting, but you will need maintenance treatments to touch up the results from time to time.
If you have a lack of elasticity in your skin on your face or body, you might be a viable candidate for BBL. During your initial consultation with Dr. Kevin Tehrani, he will examine you and listen to what you wish to change about your appearance and what you hope to expect. Only then after hearing everything you are hoping for, he will advise you on the best treatment to bring you the results you desire.
It is important to note that those with significant skin laxity or wrinkles may require a different non-surgical treatment or surgery, such as a facelift.
Thermismooth: ThermiSmooth is the first FDA-approved aesthetic device that uses temperature-controlled radiofrequency to smooth lines and wrinkles around the mouth and the eyes. The results of ThermiSmooth are immediate and long-lasting; additionally, the procedure is non-invasive. Collagen production is stimulated during this procedure, so improvement continues for a period of months.
Several treatments are often needed to achieve desired results, and two or three maintenance treatments per year can maintain results long-term.
ThermiSmooth is performed using a specially designed regulated thermistor hand piece. A gel is then applied to the treatment areas, and the handpiece is applied to the surface of your skin, set to a specific calculated temperature. The handpiece is passed over the skin, which is gradually, but comfortably, heated. Each area is treated for five minutes at a time, so the handpiece is passed over the desired areas several times during a single treatment to ensure maximum results. The procedure lasts less than an hour, and patients say it feels very similar to a hot stone massage.
ThermiTight: ThermiTight is the first FDA-approved radiofrequency device that uses temperature-controlled radiofrequency to tighten the skin and contour the face or body. For the first time, cosmetic physicians are now able to treat a variety of aesthetic soft tissue and nerve conditions using temperature as a clinical end point.
ThermiTight is a minimally invasive protocol described as “thermistor-controlled subdermal skin tightening.” The ThermiTight device has a tiny thermistor probe, which is inserted under the skin to heat underlying skin layers to the specific temperature set by our physician.
The results of ThermiTight are immediate and long-lasting, and the procedure is non-invasive. Often, only one short treatment is necessary to achieve the desired results. ThermiTight is ideal for people with areas of skin laxity or pockets of stubborn fat on the face or body. The areas most often treated with ThermiTight are the jowls, double chin, neck, love handles, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and back.
Thermirase: ThermiRase is the first FDA-approved aesthetic device that uses temperature-controlled radiofrequency to smooth the frown lines that form between the brows. It uses temperature to improve these stubborn lines for a considerably longer time than Botox.
ThermiRase is a micro-invasive procedure based on a peer-reviewed protocol that disables the nerves that control the muscles responsible for frown lines. ThermiRase is ideal for most people with the classic dual lines between the eyebrows. A local anesthetic is used, and the heat is applied several times. The treatment usually takes no more than 30 minutes.
Silhouette Instalift: The Silhouette InstaLift is the latest evolution in non-surgical treatments: a new minimally invasive procedure that expertly addresses sagging skin with little downtime and long-lasting results. The Silhouette InstaLift has the best of both worlds: the long-lasting effects of a facelift, with the minimal downtime of a non-surgical procedure. With an ingenious technique that utilizes small sutures embedded into deeper layers of the skin, the Silhouette Instalift lifts sagging skin in the middle of the face and neck for natural, long-lasting results.
With the Silhouette InstaLift there are no visible scars, there isn’t a long recovery time, or extensive discomfort; instead, patients will achieve a better contour and tone with a more youthful, rejuvenated face. Even more impressive is that after the procedure, the sutures embedded under the skin will begin to stimulate collagen growth for upwards of three more months, achieving an added amount of rejuvenation and lift right down to the skin’s cellular level.
The Silhouette InstaLift is incredibly versatile and can work on a variety of skin types; however, the ideal candidate should have skin that’s thick enough to undergo the procedure. The Silhouette InstaLift is perfect for addressing sagging or drooping in the middle of the face and neck.
Skin Rejuvenation
Fraxel Treatment: Fraxel Laser Therapy is a laser skin rejuvenation procedure aimed at a hyper-controlled treatment of many areas of the face and body. It is a fast, non-surgical, no downtime method of rejuvenation that repairs damaged skin and can treat a myriad of issues from hyperpigmentation to scars to wrinkles and sun damage.
The Fraxel laser reaches deep into the skin’s second layer known as the dermis, and stimulates the body’s restorative abilities, as well as its production of new collagen. Older skin that is damaged is removed from beneath the epidermal layer, the outermost area of skin. The procedure is unique because it only targets a specific part of your skin, reducing the risk of any damage to your already healthy skin.
Fraxel Laser Therapy candidates include men and women of all ages who want to reduce the appearance of the following: age spots, actinic keratoses, irregular texture of the skin, surgical scars, sun damage, acne scars, skin pigmentation, wrinkles near the eyes, and even melasma, or the “mask of pregnancy.” Fraxel is better suited for patients who have fair, olive, or tan skin.
Photo Facial: Forever Young BBL (photofacial) treatment, also known as photo rejuvenation, is a procedure that uses broad spectrum light to rejuvenate the skin and restore your skin’s youthful color. In a few quick and painless treatments, the Forever Young BBL (photofacial) will treat Rosacea, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, freckles, wrinkles, broken capillaries, age spots, acne, and other signs of skin damage. It’s also very effective for sun spot removal. Because photo rejuvenation works without disrupting the skin’s surface, there is little discomfort and little to no down time. Photo rejuvenation can treat areas such as the face, hands, neck, shoulders, and décolletage.
The Forever Young BBL (photofacial) treatment uses broadband light therapy (BBL therapy), an advanced version of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology.
HydraFacial: HydraFacial is the world’s leading advanced non-laser skin care system that is making huge waves at Aristocrat Plastic Surgery. This pore-purging facial vacuum is effective on all skin types, and in just one 30-minute treatment, you can see proven results. This proof is why HydraFacial is the best skin treatment on the market today. HydraFacial is a completely customizable treatment and multiple clinical studies performed by leading US doctors prove that HydraFacial yields greater results than IPL, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels. This beautifying and luxurious treatment improves the texture of your skin, as well as works to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin. HydraFacial works deep in the skin’s multiple layers to treat fine lines and wrinkles, congested pores, excess oils, dark spots and acne. This patented 4-in-1 combined technology works to cleanse, exfoliate, extract and infuse your skin to render an angelic glow and smooth, baby soft skin.
First, you will be examined by our licensed medical aesthetician to determine if you are a candidate for HydraFacial. Once we have determined that you are a qualified candidate for a HydraFacial treatment, our medical aesthetician will prep your skin for the procedure.
An exfoliating tip will be applied to the HydraFacial system to begin as the first step of the treatment. This vortex powered hydra-peel will gently cleanse your skin, but still effectively exfoliate your outer skin layer to rid the face of dead cells. This allows your face to glow, appearing brighter and healthier.
During the second step of the hydra-peel treatment, a non-irritating yet thorough exfoliation tip is applied to loosen any debris and dirt in the skin pores that is responsible for the pustules that are at the root cause of acne.
In the third step of HydraFacial, the vortex system powerfully goes to work on your skin and gently extracts black heads and other impurities from the face using the non-irritating vacuum-esque suction.
The final step in the HydraFacial procedure is the vortex serum infusion, where nutrients such as antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid is gently pushed into your newly exfoliated skin. This rejuvenates, hydrates and moisturizes the skin to give you an afterglow and the smooth skin you’ve been dying to have!
The HydraFacial treatment is the only available facial on the market today that cleanses, peels, extracts, hydrates, and protects your skin all in one short 30-minute treatment. The best part about the HydraFacial treatment is that there is zero downtime; many of our patients can briefly be treated during their work break. Once the procedure is complete, you can see the excrement and dead skin cells deposited from your facial in a small jar to demonstrate HydraFacial’s proven results.
Microdermabrasion: The DermaPen is a device that delivers one of the most effective forms of skin rejuvenation: micro-needling. The DermaPen’s micro-needling mechanism stimulates and activates the body’s natural ability to repair and renew the skin; by creating tiny micro-injuries in the skin using incredibly fine needles, our body begins a process of healing and renewal that leads to younger, healthier skin. The DermaPen treatment works in three different phrases that result in tissue remodeling, skin tightening, and significant improvement in the appearance and texture of the skin. Because micro-needling essentially utilizes a natural process, the DermaPen is a much more holistic approach to skin therapy.
The DermaPen offers solutions for all skin types, and can effectively improve the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, burn scars, and even tattoo removal.
NanoLaserPeel: The NanoLaserPeel is the ultimate laser peel solution for reinvigorating dull, aging skin and restoring its initial youth. It’s an advanced form of micro laser peel systems from Sciton, performing one of the most effective and precise skin resurfacing treatments available. The NanoLaserPeel works by removing the topmost layers of skin in a process called “ablation:” this removes layers of damaged, older skin while kick-starting our natural regeneration mechanism to heal, making way for a gradual transformation into luminous, smooth skin.
To prepare the area for treatment, your skin will be cleaned and a topical numbing cream can be applied if a patient is nervous about any possible pain. Safety shields will be used to protect your eyes.
The applicator will be placed above the treatment area, and a computer-guided scanner will analyze the area to find the perfect depth and placement for the treatment for the best results without damaging healthy skin. A laser beam will then remove a very thin layer of skin—about 4-10 microns deep –hence the term “micro laser peel”
Most of our patients report feeling minimal discomfort during the treatment. The NanoLaserPeel can be used for areas on the face, neck, chest, and the backs of hands. Depending on what area is being treated, the procedure should last a very quick 30 minutes.
If you want to achieve glowing, flawless skin by treating fines lines, wrinkles, sun damage, scars, and hyperpigmentation, then you would be a great candidate for the NanoLaserPeel.
Micro Laser Peel: Micro laser peel, also known as the Weekend Repair Peel or mini-resurfacing, is a skin rejuvenating procedure designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, rough textured skin, and deep acne scars. Its laser resurfacing mechanism removes the superficial layers of the skin from the face and neck while tightening the underlying deeper dermis. Laser resurfacing results in smoother, more vibrant and bright skin as well as a significant and immediate change in texture and tightness. Laser resurfacing is completely nonsurgical, so you will see real improvements in just a few days with little to no down time.
The micro laser peel treatment is an outpatient procedure and can be performed in your surgeon’s office. A micro laser peel can remove upwards of 50 microns of aged and sun-damaged tissue. The micro laser peel uses a laser that sends short, highly-concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular portions of skin. This process removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner one layer at a time. Laser resurfacing is performed with local or topical anesthesia.
The micro laser peel can target undesired skin conditions such as wrinkles, scars, acne scars, skin laxity, and hyperpigmentation with minimal downtime.
Compared to other treatments, patients treated with a micro laser peel heal in a fairly short time. This is because laser resurfacing produces only small amounts of tissue damage resulting in a less intense recovery as well as a shorter duration of post-operative swelling.
Some temporary side effects include peeling and flaking, which generally occurs 48 – 72 hours after the micro laser peel and are truly only temporary. The procedure can be repeated after two months.
Fat Reduction
CoolSculpting: You exercise and eat right, but stubborn fat bulges remain. That’s because they’re very often immune to diet and exercise. CoolSculpting is a revolutionary non-surgical contouring treatment that freezes that stubborn fat, which is then removed naturally from the body. This FDA-approved treatment requires no needles, no special diets, no supplements, no incisions, and no downtime.
Most patients experience significant fat reduction after only one CoolSculpting treatment. A second treatment can reduce fat by another 20%. Final losses may be more or less, depending on the patient. These results vary by individuals.
Results begin to show within three weeks of treatment in most people. After two months of treatments, the results are dramatic to say the least. Your body will continue to flush out fat cells for upwards of four months, however, so you will continue to show improvement. The results are long-lasting, especially if you maintain a steady weight and exercise regiment regularly.
If you have pockets of localized fat and good skin elasticity, you could qualify as a candidate for CoolSculpting. Some patients might benefit more from surgical liposuction, but Dr. Tehrani will advise you of the best treatment during your consultation and examination. He will always suggest the least invasive procedure for you that will provide you with the results you want with minimal pain and recovery time. Note that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure; rather it takes away inches of fat around the affected areas.
Nuvo Diet: We understand it can be incredibly hard to stay on top of your diet and shed off excess fat, so we offer a fully supervised weight loss program known as the Nuvo Diet. The Nuvo Diet is unique in its own right because it is the only fully supervised and customizable diet program where you can lose 20-40 or more pounds in as little as 40 days. Take it from our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kevin Tehrani, who lost more than 40 pounds while on the Nuvo Diet! Vaginal Rejuvination: The natural aging process, menopause, and childbirth can have drastic effects on women’s bodies. Of those changes, the ones that affect a woman’s femininity and intimate life can have some of the most far-reaching and emotional consequences. ThermiVa is an aesthetic device that reverses the effects of aging and childbirth on the vagina and vulva. By offering women a chance to improve their intimate life and their confidence in their femininity, ThermiVa does more than rejuvenate the body; it helps women restore their sense of well-being and quality of life. The ThermiVa procedure is a gentle and painless way to address issues like incontinence, vulvovaginal laxity, overactive bladder, and orgasmic dysfunction. The FDA-approved ThermiVa uses temperature controlled radiofrequency to rebuild and boost collagen levels in the vulva and vaginal tissues. ThermiVa is a great option for women who want to reclaim their bodies without surgery or a long recovery. Some of the benefits include:
- Improved Urinary Control
- Greater enjoyment of intercourse
- Alleviation of vaginal dryness and painful intercourse
- Aesthetic improvement
- Comfort exercising or wearing tight fitting clothes
- Renewed Confidence
- Reduced Pelvic Pain
- Alleviated Constant Itch in the Vulva (hyperplastic dystrophy)
Laser Hair Removal: Laser hair removal is an extremely popular non-invasive aesthetic procedure performed on about one million Americans on a yearly basis. It is a non-invasive, convenient, and safe way to reduce and potentially eliminate hair and hair growth. Unlike with shaving, you’ll achieve long-term results and, ultimately, long lasting hair removal (dependent on individuals).
Laser hair removal is safe for all skin types, and can be done on any area of the body or face. The procedure goes in and kills the base of the hair follicle under the skin, removing hair from the root source without causing damage to the healthy surrounding skin.
Depending on the skin area being treated, laser hair removal may take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to complete. A low energy laser beam is typically used so as to not actually damage the skin, only the hair follicle. Attracted by the hair’s pigment, the energy from the laser beam passes through the patient’s skin and down the hair shaft. It is then absorbed by hair follicles that are actively growing, thereby successfully dismantling the hair follicle in the deeper layer of the skin.
Long lasting hair removal is when a significant amount of hair does not return for a longer time period than the complete growth cycle. After a series of treatments, most hair is fully removed. If hair does grow back, it will be finer and lighter than before, and easier to take care of or remove.
Sadly, the hair follicles that are in a dormant phase are not affected by the laser beam. Multiple treatments are required to attack the different stages of hair growth. In most cases, no anesthesia is required as the procedure is relatively painless. Consistency with your appointments is the key to great success with laser hair removal.
Spider Vein Treatment: It is estimated that somewhere around half of American women have varicose veins – more commonly known as spider veins. It is a common cosmetic problem, and many women will try to avoid showing their legs because they have varicose veins: small blue, red or purple veins that appear on the thighs, calves and ankles.
Heredity, pregnancy, hormonal shifts, weight gain, and occupations or activities that require prolonged sitting or standing are some of the factors that contribute to the natural development of spider veins.
Sometimes, varicose veins become noticeable in the early 20s, but for most women, the veins may not become obvious until they reach their 40s. Men get spider veins, too, but usually the long hair on their legs conceals them.
Dr. Tehrani can help you reduce your spider veins and improve the appearance of those pesky spider veins. Spider vein treatment, or sclerotherapy, is a very effective, safe and mostly painless method available for successfully eradicating spider veins.
Sclerotherapy is the officially name of varicose veins treatment, and is the most effective treatment for vascular damage. The procedure is non-invasive and the results are instant, though individual results may vary in certain cases. There is minimal discomfort and no need for down time. Any area on the face and body can be treated.
In the regular spider vein treatment, sclerosing solution is injected into each tiny spider vein, causing the vein to immediately collapse and fade from view. Although everyone is different, one injection for every inch of spider vein is generally expected. Bright light and different magnification tools may be used to ensure maximum precision while the skin is held taut to inject the sclerosing solution. A cotton ball and compression tape is often applied to each injection site as it is finished to help with any pain or discomfort.
At Aristocrat Plastic Surgery, we also perform varicose vein laser treatment. In this procedure, an intense beam of light is shone directly at the spider vein, which obliterates it through the skin without damaging the skin.
Some veins may disappear after one treatment while others disappear after a repeat second procedure. Therefore, we recommend multiple spider vein treatments scheduled out in advance – usually two or more sessions – for maximum results.
Ultherapy: Not a facelift but a skin uplift, Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to gradually strengthen and tone your skin from deep within for long-lasting results.
Ultherapy is a non-surgical face treatment that actually lifts and tones loose or sagging skin without any downtime or recovery period. It can specifically target the deep foundation below the skin – previously only addressed in cosmetic surgery – without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin. It also is the only procedure to utilize ultrasound imaging, which allows us to see the layers of tissue we target during the treatment and ensure the energy is deposited exactly where it will be most effective.
This FDA-approved technique also stimulates your body to produce more collagen for months of gradual, continued improvement. Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it firmed, toned, and elastic. As we age, collagen slowly loses its elasticity and its ability to stand up to the effects of gravity that pull the skin downward, which leads to sagging skin. Ultherapy jumpstarts a repair process that produces fresh, new collagen.
If you have ever had an ultrasound, you know that there is no penetration of the skin, and it is painless. With Ultherapy, however, some people say that it may be slightly uncomfortable, so we can provide numbing cream of the treatment area or medication to take beforehand in order to ease discomfort. The treatment takes 30 minutes or less, and visible results can usually be achieved in one or two treatments.
