What is a Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty, also known as labial reduction, is a cosmetic procedure for the female genitalia that reduces the size or changes the shape of the small lips on the outside of the vagina (the labia minora) or the outer lips of the vagina (the labia majora).
Irregularity of the labia is not a rare condition among women. Many women are born with it, but most common reasons for its development are a multiple childbirth or the aging process. It can also be the result of wearing very tight clothes.

What is a Labiaplasty? | Reasons to Have Labiaplasty | The Procedure | Benefits
Women mostly decide to undergo a Labiaplasty for cosmetic reasons. The irregular labia can create a great amount of discomfort or irritation while exercising, wearing slightly tighter clothes, or when being intimate with a partner. This irritation and discomfort are the medical reasons for Labiaplasty.
In some patients, besides feeling uncomfortable, the labia irregularity can even result in embarrassment and loss of self-esteem. These women usually feel insecure about themselves and they just feel like their intimate body part needs to look prettier. This is related to the aesthetic part of the Labiaplasty surgery.
Labiaplasty is often paired with ThermiVa, a noninvasive procedure that addresses issues like incontinence, vulvovaginal laxicity, overactive bladder, orgasmic dysfunction and atrophy to achieve vaginal rejuvenation.

Labiaplasty Procedure
The labial reduction procedure is a quick and painless cosmetic surgery. The usual length of the procedure is 1 or 2 hours. It is always performed under anesthesia
After the surgery your recovery period will begin. It is very normal for the first few days to feel small discomfort at the surgical area, but it will decrease within a few days. The complete recovery may go up to 4-6 weeks, depending on the patient’s health stability and overall strength.
After Labiaplasty women can go back to work and some light day-to-day activities 2-4 days after the surgery. After a month more vigorous activities can be included in the daily routine.
