Nano Fat Injections
Over recent years fat injections have become a safe and natural alternative to dermal fillers. Similarly to filler injections, nano or micro fat injections are used to soften fine lines and wrinkles as well as add volume and improve the shape of lips, cheeks, jawline, and chin.
Are Nano Fat Injections Right For You?
This procedure is a special technique of fat transfer, where a small amount of fat is taken, purified, and injected into other areas of the body. The word “nano” or “micro” refers to the very small particles of fat that are specifically emulsified and used for areas with very defined contours, such as fine lines, wrinkles, temples, tear troughs.
The nano fat grafting procedure consists of two main steps. Firstly, fat is harvested from the abdomen or thighs (patients usually decide to do liposuction of one or several body areas with stubborn fat deposits).
Nano fat grafting can be done safely under local anesthesia but if you opt for liposuction of large body areas, it’s better to choose general anesthesia.
The huge advantage of fat grating over dermal filler injections is its permanence. Fillers usually dissolve after 9-18 months, while fat transfer results last permanently. Nano fat transfer can be combined with other cosmetic procedures, such as a facelift or blepharoplasty. For instance, this patient underwent lower blepharoplasty, Silhouette InstaLift and fat transfer to face for a dramatic yet natural facial rejuvenation of her face:
