Wake up your face! Do you look tired even after a good night’s rest? Are droopy eyelids blocking your beautiful eyes? The eyes are one of the noticeable, dynamic features on the face. Aging, sagging eyelids can mask the beauty of your eyes. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, rejuvenates the eye area by removing excess skin and fat. Ask Dr. Tehrani if blepharoplasty is right for you.
Blepharoplasty Basics
Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure performed on the eyelids. During surgery excess skin, fat, and muscle are removed. The eyes retain their natural shape and you’ll still be able to make natural expressions. Results are long lasting and many patients enjoy a younger looking appearance for life.
If you’re thinking about blepharoplasty, you probably have questions. Call and schedule your consultation for personalized advice and information. Here are a few quick facts about the procedure:
- Can be performed on the upper and/or lower eyelids
- Customized to your needs
- Long-lasting results
- Corrects droopy eyelids or bags under the eyes
- Can be paired with many other procedures
Am I a Good Candidate for Blepharoplasty?
If you’re considering eyelid surgery, come see us. During your consultation with Dr. Tehrani we’ll discuss your health and aesthetic goals to determine if this surgery is your best option. Many patients are excellent candidates. Typically blepharoplasty patients are:
- Over the age of 40
- In good health
- Have puffy bags under the eyes or sagging eyelids
- Male or female
Ophthalmic conditions like dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, or detached retina do not necessarily disqualify you from blepharoplasty. If you have certain eye conditions, Dr. Tehrani may need additional information from your eye doctor to determine if you’re a candidate for surgery. Although patients are typically at least 40, blepharoplasty is often performed on younger patients with a strong family history of eyelid sagging or bags under the eyes.
If you’re tired of looking tired, come see us. Blepharoplasty may be right for you.
