Is Restylane® Right For You?
Restylane® is a wonderful alternative to animal-based injectables, as it is made of non-animal-based Hyaluronic Acid, or HA. This natural substance already exists in the human body and is hydrophilic, or “water loving.” Its ability to bind to water is what make the results of the Restylane® treatment long-lasting.
Restylane® treatment can be used to treat facial lines and wrinkles, enhance the lips, and improve the look of the area beneath the eyes. It creates the appearance of fullness and increases your skin’s elasticity in a procedure that lasts only a few minutes.

The Restylane® Treatment
The Restylane® treatment is an outpatient procedure that takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. It is injected into the skin below the wrinkles by a fine needle, lifting the wrinkle to the desired position. When lip enhancements are made, Restylane® is injected directly into and around the lip. Restylane® Lyft
Formerly known as Perlane®-L®, Restylane® Lyft is the first FDA-approved injectable gel (filler) designed to repair volume loss in the cheeks, treat face wrinkles, and smooth nasolabial folds (smile lines). Like
Hyaluronic acid is so effective because it is a sugar that naturally occurs in our bodies, so it mimics our collagen production in order to keep skin smooth and supple. It also delays the natural breakdown of skin enzymes.
Who is a Candidate for Lyft?
Anyone who has lost fullness in his or her cheeks due to the aging process would be a candidate for Restylane® Lyft. However, those with bleeding disorders or allergies to Lidocaine should avoid using it.
As we age, the natural fat in our cheeks begins to diminish, which causes sagging skin, visible wrinkles, and volume reduction. Both men and women who are seeking a nonsurgical way to combat this deterioration over time would benefit from its use.
The Lyft Treatment
Lyft is injected deep into the skin to lift folds and replace lost facial volume, bone loss, and the depletion of collagen. Its unique ability to bind with water helps patients maintain volume in their faces. The increased facial volume restores skin’s natural contour, resulting in a more youthful appearance*.
As with other fillers in the Restylane® family, Lyft is relatively quick and painless. It’s composed of .3% of the local anesthetic Lidocaine to ensure the comfort of those who get injected. The procedure typically takes less than an hour, making it convenient for even the busiest of patients.
You are in excellent hands when getting the Lyft treatment from Dr. Tehrani, who has been given the distinction of ExpertInjector™. Fewer than 3% of doctors fall under this category. This qualifying organization is the only one to have the endorsement of the prestigious American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Recovery
While most patients can return to work the next day, the average recovery time after Lyft is about two weeks. During this time, some patients might experience tenderness, redness, bruising, swelling, itching, and headaches.
The corrections made in skin’s volume by Restylane® Lyft typically last 6-9 months, although 73% of patients have even reported seeing improvement 12 months after treatment. As with all fillers, results will differ from patient to patient.

Restylane® Silk
Restylane® Silk is a natural cosmetic injectable that is the first and only FDA-approved product that has been designed specifically to enhance the lips and smooth lines around the mouth.
Restylane® Silk is made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body and gradually decreases as we age, causing lines and wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® Silk is a colorless crystal gel that subtly plumps the lips, making them fuller, poutier, and sexier.
Dr. Tehrani has been given the distinction of ExpertInjector™, which fewer than 3% of doctors have qualified for. This qualifying organization is the only one to have the endorsement of the prestigious American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

Benefits
Restylane Kysse will temporarily add volume to the lips and help smooth the wrinkles above your mouth. It has been studied by many subjects like yourself to determine if it was effective and to ensure that it is safe to use.
The study doctors reported:
- 77% of subjects had at least 1-point improvement in lip fullness 6 months after treatment
- 60% of subjects had at least 1-point improvement in lip fullness 12 months after treatment.
- 88% of subjects rated an improvement in the appearance 6 months after treatments
- 78% of subjects rated an improvement in the appearance 12 months after treatment.
The Procedure
One of our expert injectors will begin by examining your face and discussing whether Restylane Kysse is the right treatment for you. They will also review what you should expect during and after the procedure, along with any possible side effects that you may experience. Your photos will also be taken.
Prior to treatment, your skin will be cleansed, and you will receive a topical anesthetic, as either a cream or ointment, to numb the area where you will receive your injection.
Using an ultrafine needle, your provider will inject Restylane Kysse into your lips or perioral area to add fullness. The product contains 0.3% lidocaine to reduce pain during injection, so after your first injection, the area around your injection will continue to numb. The anesthetic part of Restylane Kysse has been shown to significantly reduce the pain and discomfort that may occur with a dermal filler gel injection.
After the injection is complete, your provider may gently massage the area that was treated to ensure the dermal filler gel is distributed evenly and looks natural.
Recovery
Most side effects from Restylane Kysse are mild with a short lasting duration. Some common side effects include redness, pain/tenderness, swelling, and bruising. We will provide you with an ice pack immediately after your treatment to reduce swelling. We recommend avoiding touching the treated area within six hours following treatment. Avoiding taking aspirin, NSAID, St. John’s Wort, blood thinners and high doses of Vitamin E supplements for one week after treatment. Lastly, we recommend minimizing strenuous exercise and exposure to excessive heat for the first 24 hours after treatment.

Meet Dr. Kevin Tehrani, MD FACS
Who is a Candidate for Restylane®?
Any man or woman who has experienced age-related sagging in the face and is seeking a non-surgical option would be a candidate for Restylane®. The injections will reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face as well as increase facial volume in the areas under the eyes and cheeks. Restylane® filler can be used for lip enhancement, too. The result is a more youthful appearance and, ideally, an increase in confidence to accompany this healthy glow.
Restylane® Recovery
You may have some bruising, swelling, tenderness, or redness, but that will fade in a few days to a week. There is also no downtime, so patients can return to their normal routine immediately afterwards.
Over time, Restylane® is gradually reabsorbed into the skin without a trace. The results of the Restylane® treatment will depend on the patient’s age or the severity of the wrinkles in the area being treated. They typically last around 6-8 months and, in some cases, up to a year. The Hyaluronic Acid will recharge the body’s natural production of collagen, which is why the results are so long-lasting*. Follow-up treatments at 6 to 12 month intervals are recommended to maintain the youthful results.
