How to Treat Varicose Veins (Sclerotherapy)
Is Sclerotherapy Right For You?
It is estimated that somewhere around half of American women have varicose veins – also commonly known as spider veins. It is a common cosmetic problem, and many women avoid showing their legs because they have varicose veins: small blue, red or purple veins that appear on the thighs, calves and ankles.
Heredity, pregnancy, hormonal shifts, weight gain, and occupations or activities that require prolonged sitting or standing are some of the factors that contribute to the development of spider veins.
Sometimes, varicose veins become noticeable in the early 20s, but for most women, the veins may not become obvious until they reach their 40s. Men get spider veins, too, but usually hair growth on the leg conceals them.
Dr. Tehrani can help you reduce your spider veins and improve your appearance. Spider vein treatment or sclerotherapy is a very effective, safe and relatively painless method available for eradicating spider veins.

Sclerotherapy & Varicose Veins Laser Treatment
Sclerotherapy is the name of varicose veins treatment, and is the most effective treatment for vascular damage. The procedure is non-invasive and the results are instant, though individual results may vary. There is minimal discomfort and no down time. Any area on face and body can be treated.
In the regular spider vein treatment, sclerosing solution is injected into each spider vein, causing the vein to collapse and fade from view. Although everyone is different, one injection for every inch of spider vein is generally expected. Bright light and magnification may be used to ensure maximum precision while the skin is held taut to inject sclerosing solution. A cotton ball and compression tape is often applied to each injection site as it is finished.
At Aristocrat Plastic Surgery, we also perform varicose veins laser treatment. In this procedure, an intense beam of light is directed at the spider vein, which obliterates it through the skin.
Some veins may disappear after one treatment while others disappear after a repeat procedure. Therefore, we recommend multiple spider vein treatments usually two or more sessions for maximum results.
