It is not unusual for plastic surgery patients to combine several body procedures into one when they aim for the perfect body contour. But, not all of them are suitable candidates for a combination of aesthetic procedures.
When deciding to undergo a procedure, even a simple one like Tummy Tuck and Liposuction, you need to be in good physical health state. The importance of this factor is even bigger when patients go for a Tummy Tuck and Liposuction and Butt Lift at once.
This was the concern for one RealSelf user who wanted to improve her previously performed Tummy Tuck, Abdomen Liposuction and Butt Lift results, but unfortunately she developed an ovarian cyst. She reached to Dr. Kevin Tehrani, a board-certified plastic surgeon and one the best New York plastic surgeons, asking his professional opinion about having the Liposuction even though the cyst is not drained yet.
Can a patient safely get Liposuction if they have an ovarian cyst?
“Hi, I had Liposuction, tummy tuck, and butt lift approximately 10 months ago. Unfortunately, I developed a seroma and a hematoma. I had them both drained in august 2014. However, I still presented with the bloating, uncomfortable full feeling and thought it had come back. However, I have recently found out that the seroma/hematoma is resolved, but still have severe disfigured abdomen and also was told I have a 6cm ovarian cyst. Would the cyst cause the disfigured look and can I still proceed with the Liposuction…safely?” a RealSelf user asked.
Liposuction after tummy tuck
“Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. I am sorry that you’re not happy with your previous results. There seems to be room for improvement using liposuction. Your ovarian cyst would not likely effect the shape of your abdomen. You should have a consultation with your gynecologist prior to liposuction.” Dr. Tehrany answered.
