Brazilian Butt Lift is one of the most popular body shaping procedures. It contours the buttocks and compensates for low amounts of fat in the area.
This method of buttock augmentation is preferred over the other method of butt sculpting, because it uses patient’s own body fat to reshape the butt. Fat grafting achieves a more natural result, has a lower risk of infection, and also contours the areas around the buttocks to enhance the overall effect. Brazilian Butt Lift lends a shapely contour to the buttocks that lasts a long time.
Dr. Tehrani was asked by a RealSelf user how much weight gain is required for a Brazilian Butt Lift. Usually patients do not need to gain extra weight on their body to create donor harvest areas for liposuction. The liposuction is performed to gather the fat which will we be further grafted into to the buttocks.
Here is what Dr. Tehrani answered.
I’d like to know how much weight gain I will need for a Brazilian Butt Lift surgery?
“I would also like to know if I gain the weight and I also gain it in my face will it stay after surgery? I tend to gain weight in my face and upper body.” a RealSelf user asked.
Weight gain and BBL
“Thank you for your question and posting appropriate pictures. While you have limited donor harvest areas, if you’re not looking for an exaggerated volume, this can still be achieved with your own fat without weight gain. I do not believe gaining weight that is not sustainable after the procedure is beneficial. You would need a consultation to discuss the options in person and visualize your results with the Brazilian Butt Lift versus gluteal implants.”
